More finalizing

Last week I did manage to work a good amount of time on the project. It was mostly more repetitive work getting everything cleaned up, organized, documented etc. I did also add a little window that allows quick importing of demo resources. It is built in a way that other devs could also create their own demo resources and have them show up in the same window alongside my demo resources. Been adding a whole bunch of small quality of life and additional small features that I come across during testing. One example is an improved slider built on top of the Unity built-in slider. It features the option to specify in what steps the slider should increment or decrement its value. This allows devs to better tune their settings. Specifically for that feature I also integrated it fully into the existing settings framework so developers can easily specify custom step values for their setting(s). The other stuff is too small to really talk about but that small stuff adds up quickly and easily fills up a week worth of work by itself. During testing today I came across another Unity UI limitation for which I had to implement my own solution. While I’m getting closer to completing everything I feel like days go by without meaningful progress when these things happen but ultimately I’d have to deal with them at some point anyway. I hope nothing else is gonna pop up because those last couple of things were related to controller navigation and testing of controls.

Notable tasks this week:

  • More work on finalizing the asset
  • Added import resources window

That’s all I got this week. I hope you are all doing well.

Stay safe out there and I’ll see you next week.
