World generation v1 tech demo

This week’s focus was on getting the automatic benchmark system and with it the world generation tech demo ready for testing. I started the week by implementing the basic benchmark system I talked about in the previous devlog. The implementation went smooth and I even expanded on my original idea and made it fully automatic. This means testers don’t have to send me their results manually. All that needs to be done is to press a single button and wait till the benchmark is over. The result will be uploaded automatically. Besides the benchmark system I only had time for smaller internal improvements and additions that are not really worth going into detail. With the benchmark test being fully automatic I decided to upload the tech demo to itch.io for the first time. I made the tech demo publicly available so everyone can download it and provide a benchmark or simply mess around with the world generation if they want. I did contact all testers that have expressed interest in testing and already got a few benchmark results to analyze. If you’d like to also give it a go feel free to download it at: https://ozonewipeout.itch.io/ozone-wipeout. I’d appreciate it if you do run the benchmark test at least once if you download the tech demo. This helps me better estimate what the minimum specifications for the world will be. It only takes 2 minutes and you don’t have to do anything. Just click the button and go to the toilet or get yourself a coffee/tea. The test should be done by the time you are back :grinning: If you do end up testing the tech demo I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
