Devlog - December 11th 2022
New road mesh generation asset & guard rails
This week’s focus was on the continued implementation of the new road mesh generation asset. I still haven’t properly finished the implementation of intersections and terrain alignments with that asset. Both of those features have given me a fair bit of trouble throughout the week. I am in contact with the creator of the asset and he is giving a specific feature a closer look which could potentially solve my problem with road alignments and consequently intersections. My current solution is close enough to an acceptable result that I will continue with other tasks next week and go back to it when the creator has looked into the feature. I’ve also added the generation of guard rails [1] as mentioned in the previous devlog. Additionally I did put a little bit more time into the generation of river flows. I’m hoping to be able to add those until the end of this year. My new computer is currently being shipped and expected to arrive next week so I’m expecting a little less progress on the game itself as I will also spend time setting up the new computer in order to hopefully do all development on it by the beginning of next year.
