Devlog - December 25th 2022

More work on new computer

This week’s focus was on Christmas preparations, more computer related stuff and other personal things. I did get in touch with the customer support for the computer I bought regarding the power supply unit issue. This is an ongoing process which will continue next week after Christmas. So far there isn’t much to report because replies usually take a day and nothing has come out of the conversation yet. To potentially not have to send back the entire computer for a psu replacement I am looking into some alternative ways to handle the annoying noise. I bought a bunch of acoustic foam and a small cabinet in which I will put the foam and computer next week. I’ll be leaving a hole in the back that is facing the wall for air flow. If the foam reduces the noise enough I may not have to replace the power supply. Since it’s a high pitched sound the foam should work well as high pitched sounds are apparently better to reduce than low ones. I hope you’re all having a great time and use the remaining days of 2022 to spend time with friends and family.
